This is the plain, full-colour cut of the lizard hide — one even colour across the whole strap, with none of the dark natural spotting that lizard skin can carry towards its edges — so the scales read as a clean, uniform texture. On lizard it works better than on a smooth calf, because the scales break the tone into hundreds of small facets and the colour never flattens out into a block. The padding gives the band a clean shoulder at the lug and a little height over the case, which suits a larger watch.
