Our Beginning
We began the way most small workshops do — not with a business plan, but with an irritation. A watch we loved, on a strap that was almost right. Almost the right width. Almost the right length. Close enough to wear, never close enough to forget.
Vietnam has leatherworkers who have spent their lives learning to do one thing properly. We were lucky enough to learn beside them.

XILUGS was the answer to that question — a workshop where the person who wears the strap decides how it is made.
LunLeather LLC is a US-registered company; every strap is handcrafted in our Ha Noi workshop and shipped worldwide with tracking.

Cutting
Cut by hand from a full hide against a steel rule — never die-pressed in batches.

Saddle stitching
Two needles, one waxed thread, every hole passed twice. A saddle stitch cannot be done by machine.

The edge
Sanded, burnished, then hand-painted in thin coats to match the leather — five of the eighteen steps.

Precision
Every cut, stitch and finishing step is done entirely by hand — slowly, meticulously, measured to the millimetre.
We choose to work this way not because it is easy, but because it is the only way to get it right.
Material Truth
Leather is a natural material and we treat it as one.
Each hide has its own grain, its own marks, its own way of ageing. We work with that character rather than sanding it away.
Timeless Design
A strap should not only look good on the first day. It should age well, take on the marks of the life it is worn through, and become inseparable from the watch it sits on.

Every piece is shaped by a pair of skilled hands. No production line, no batch manufacturing.
- Hand-cut from full hides, never die-pressed in batches.

A machine can make a hundred straps in the time this takes to make one. It cannot make yours.
