Lug & Buckle Width
Lug width is the gap between the two lugs of your watch case, where the strap fits. Your strap has to match it exactly.
Most watches are 18, 20 or 22 mm. Measure inner edge to inner edge with a ruler — or flip your old strap over: the width is often printed inside.
Our sizes read lug / buckle: 20 / 18 mm is 20 mm at the watch, 18 mm at the buckle. Only the first number has to match your watch.

Strap Length Guide
Every strap has two parts: the long end with the holes and the short end with the buckle. 115 / 70 mm means 115 mm long, 70 mm short.
Wrap a soft tape — or a paper strip — just above the wrist bone. Snug, not tight. Then find your size below.

Sits low and close to the wrist. Quiet, clean, and easy under a shirt cuff — the profile that suits dress and everyday watches.
Lug-end thickness: 2.5, 3.5 or 4.5 mm — or ask for your own.
Built up through the middle for a fuller, sportier presence, then tapered down towards the buckle so it still sits comfortably.

Thickness is measured at the lug end, where the strap meets your watch. From there we taper it down so it finishes cleanly against your buckle.
The leather
Epsom Calfskin
Epsom is calfskin with a fine cross-hatch grain pressed into it, and that pressing is the point: the pattern holds its shape, resists the scratches a smooth calf would show, and keeps its structure instead of slumping. It stays light, wipes clean, and looks the same on year five as on day one.

Quick release spring bars
Choose quick release or regular spring bars. We fit them before it ships, so you can change straps in seconds — no tools, no scratched lugs.

Soft Zermatt lining
The underside is lined with soft, water-resistant Zermatt — comfortable against the skin all day, and in warm weather.

Your name on the lining
Initials or a name, hand-stamped into the lining free of charge, so the piece on your wrist is one of one.

Cutting the Leather
Cut by hand from a full hide against a steel rule — never die-pressed in batches.

Skiving
The edges are pared thinner so the strap folds without a ridge under your wrist.

Reinforcement
A reinforcement layer is set in where the strap takes the most stress.

Hammering
The layers are hammered flat so they sit true before they are bonded.

Assembly
Outer leather and Zermatt lining are laid up together and aligned by hand.

Rolling
The layers are rolled under pressure to bond them into one piece.

Shaping
The strap is cut to its final profile and the tip is shaped.

Edge Sanding
The raw edge is sanded through descending grits until the layers read as one.

Punching the Stitch Holes
Holes are struck with a pricking iron at a constant angle — what gives a hand seam its slant.

Saddle Stitching
By hand: two needles, one waxed thread, every hole passed twice. It cannot be done by machine.

Edge Creasing
A heated creaser draws a fine line along the edge, framing the stitch.

Edge Painting
The burnished edge is sealed and hand-painted in thin coats to match the leather.

Keepers
The keeper loops that hold the tail are made and fitted by hand.

Buckle Holes
The pin holes are punched to the exact length you ordered, not a standard pattern.

Fitting the Buckle
The buckle is fitted in the finish you chose.

Spring Bars
Quick-release spring bars are fitted so the strap goes on your watch without tools.

Every strap is checked against your order and against itself before it leaves.
